The Dalesmen Male Voice Choir is a group of ordinary men who enjoy music and singing together. We meet regularly in Belper and share a passion for male voice singing.
As a choir, we aim to give and receive pleasure through music, contribute to the cultural life of our local community, and support charitable causes. We have been singing together for over thirty years.
New members are always welcome.

Our repertoire includes a wide variety of music, from West End and Broadway songs to traditional male voice choir favourites, popular music from past decades, contemporary arrangements, and concert pieces.
This variety helps keep our programme fresh and enjoyable for both choir members and audiences.
We regularly perform at venues throughout Derbyshire and the surrounding area.
We also occasionally travel further afield within the UK as guest performers at organised concerts and festivals. In addition, the choir sometimes enjoys social weekends away for members and their partners.
The choir is run by a voluntary management committee elected annually by the membership.
Members receive copies of committee meeting minutes and are kept informed about the running of the choir. Our musical direction is provided by an experienced Musical Director, supported by Assistant Musical Directors and accompanists.
The choir is funded primarily through members' subscriptions, which help cover sheet music, equipment, choir uniforms, and general running expenses.
Additional funds may be raised through concerts and other activities.
No. You do not need to be able to read music, and you do not need to have a solo singing voice.
Our musical team will listen to your voice privately and help determine which section of the choir would suit you best. We provide support and learning resources to help new members develop their confidence and ability.
The choir provides a welcoming and supportive environment for new singers.
Members have access to rehearsal resources and learning tracks that can be used at home to help learn new music. Many current members joined with little or no previous choir experience.
Membership offers weekly rehearsals in a friendly atmosphere, regular concerts and performances, opportunities to support local charities and community events, social activities and weekends away, and the chance to develop your singing ability and musical confidence. We provide a free uniform.
Many members find choir membership both rewarding and enjoyable, and lifelong friendships are often formed.
